    FIFO Charter Flights from Perth

Australia's busiest workforce aviation origin, where the difference between a good rotation and a bad one is usually measured in minutes of departure timing.

Why Perth is the centre of Australian FIFO

Perth carries more workforce aviation than any other Australian city. The state's resources and energy sector draws its people from the Perth metropolitan area, and the airport has developed dedicated handling and processing capability specifically for rotational crews. That concentration is an advantage, capacity, operators and ground handling all exist here, but it also creates competition for the same departure windows.

Perth operates without a night curfew, which is more commercially significant than it sounds. An early departure delivers crews on site in time for a full first shift, which removes an accommodation night and gains a productive day. Programs designed around genuine departure windows consistently outperform those designed around whatever slot was left.

The other Perth-specific factor is processing. Large rotations need time for check-in, baggage, inductions and manifest reconciliation. A schedule that ignores that reality looks efficient on paper and slips repeatedly in practice.

    Where Perth rotations go

Most Perth FIFO capacity serves the Pilbara, the Goldfields, the Mid West and the Kimberley, with a meaningful volume moving interstate to South Australian and Northern Territory operations, and offshore to Pacific and PNG projects where a workforce is Perth-based.

Destinations range from sealed regional airports to private mine aerodromes and short unsealed strips, and that range is what determines aircraft type far more than sector length does. Send the destination aerodrome and we will confirm what can genuinely operate there.

    • Pilbara, Port Hedland, Karratha, Newman, Paraburdoo, mine strips
    • Goldfields, Kalgoorlie, Leonora, Laverton and satellite operations
    • Mid West and south, Geraldton, Esperance and regional operations
    • Kimberley, Broome, Kununurra, Derby and remote strips
    • Interstate and offshore, SA, NT, PNG and Pacific projects

    Departure timing, processing and turnaround

Timing is where most programs are won or lost. We build rotations backwards from the shift changeover on site: what time crews must land to work a full shift, how long the sector takes, how long processing takes at Perth, and therefore what departure time the program actually needs. Only then does aircraft and operator availability get tested against it.

Return legs deserve the same discipline. A return timed to the end of shift rather than to aircraft convenience is the difference between crews getting home that night and paying for an extra night's accommodation and a lost evening.

Programs, surges and ad-hoc cover from Perth

We handle three distinct patterns from Perth. Recurring programs, a fixed rotation pattern over months or years, priced as a pattern so procurement can defend the number. Surge capacity, shutdowns, turnarounds and project mobilisations that concentrate demand into narrow windows. And ad-hoc cover, a delayed contractor, a weather disruption, an unplanned crew change that has to move now.

The intake is deliberately the same for all three. Origin, destination, passenger count, days of operation, required departure times, commencement, duration, baggage, frequency and any additional requirements. Estimates are enough to produce a workable answer.

Working with procurement, travel managers and TMCs

Mining and energy procurement teams need a price they can defend, evidence the aircraft and operator suit the route, and one accountable contact when something changes overnight. Travel managers and TMCs generally want charter capability that sits behind their existing programme without disturbing traveller policy or reporting.

We operate to either interface. Aviall Group arranges dedicated aircraft charter capacity and is not the aircraft operator, every flight is operated by an appropriately approved operator selected for that route and aerodrome.

    Have a FIFO requirement?

    Send us the requirement.

We take both recurring programs and one-off movements. Estimates are enough to start. We come back with aircraft options, capacity and baggage feasibility, and indicative pricing you can put in front of a budget holder or a tender response.

    Recurring charter program

Roster flying, workforce rotations, seasonal campaigns and scheduled corporate shuttles. Send the pattern and we price the program, not just a single flight.

    One-off group movement

A single group flight, a team, a tour, a conference, a delegation, an event crew or a shutdown surge. Five details are usually enough for a workable quote.

    FAQ

    Frequently Asked Questions

Perth has no night curfew, so early departures are available and commonly used to deliver crews for a full first shift. The practical limit is usually crew processing and baggage handling time rather than the airport itself.

Building a Perth FIFO program or covering a surge?

Send origin, destination, passenger count, days of operation, departure times, commencement, duration, baggage and frequency. We return aircraft options and indicative program pricing.

    Have a live requirement?
