Speaking to someone is usually the fastest way to start.

Our medical transfer desk is staffed 24 hours. You do not need complete information to make the first call, the current location of the patient and where they need to go is enough to begin.

Patient information is treated as sensitive. Medical detail and uploaded reports go only to the clinical and operations coordinators handling the case, are never placed in web addresses, and are never shared with advertising or analytics platforms.

Air charter across the Asia-Pacific

The Asia-Pacific is the world's most operationally complex charter region. It spans the long distances of Oceania, the dense and tightly regulated airspace of North and Southeast Asia, and the austere strips of the South Pacific island nations. Aviall coordinates cargo, group passenger and medevac charter across all three sub-regions, with permits, ground handling, customs and clinical or load planning run door-to-door.

Aircraft are sourced against the mission rather than from a fixed in-house fleet, which lets Aviall match the right type to the route, payload and runway available. From a King Air medevac out of a Pacific island into a Brisbane tertiary hospital, to a 90-tonne 747F into Hong Kong, to a 100-pax narrowbody event charter into Bali, the same operations standard applies.

Sub-regions and typical missions

Asia-Pacific charter demand divides cleanly into three sub-regions, each with its own operational pattern.

• Oceania (Australia, New Zealand), high-volume domestic and trans-Tasman cargo, FIFO, sports, corporate and medevac
• South Pacific (PNG, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, New Caledonia, French Polynesia), austere-strip operations, medevac to Australian and New Zealand hospitals, disaster response, resources cargo
• Southeast Asia (Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines), dense scheduled-cargo region, charter used for outsize, urgent and DG cargo, plus group and event charter
• North Asia (Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea), long-haul cargo charter, semiconductor and pharma, AOG and aerospace recovery

Cargo charter across Asia-Pacific

Aviall arranges cargo charter across the full Asia-Pacific from regional 737F to outsize AN-124 / IL-76. The most common cargo lanes are Australia ↔ North Asia, Australia ↔ Southeast Asia, Australia ↔ South Pacific, intra-Southeast Asia, and trans-Tasman. Permits, overflight clearances, customs and ground handling are coordinated door-to-door. See cargo charter services for the full freighter capability and heavy-lift cargo charter for outsize.

Medevac across Asia-Pacific

Asia-Pacific medevac is the most demanding clinical and operational mission Aviall coordinates. Distances are long, intermediate fuel stops are frequent, and receiving hospitals span Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Manila. Aircraft selection runs from King Air and Learjet for short Pacific island sectors to long-range Challenger and global-class jets for trans-Pacific and Asia-Australia transfers. ICU-grade clinical teams, bed-to-bed handover and direct apron access at receiving hospitals are coordinated as standard. See air ambulance and medevac services for the clinical detail.

Group passenger charter across Asia-Pacific

Group charter across the Asia-Pacific covers sports teams (trans-Tasman and intra-Asia), corporate incentive groups (typically Australia or Singapore origin into resort destinations), MICE delegations, FIFO across mining-active islands, and event charter for festivals and conferences. Aircraft typically run from regional turboprops to widebody narrowbodies. See group charter flights for the full process.

Why Asia-Pacific charter is operationally different

Three things make Asia-Pacific charter different from operating purely inside one country. First, every cross-border movement needs overflight and landing permits, sometimes from countries that are merely transited. Second, runway and pavement quality varies enormously, especially across the Pacific island states, which constrains aircraft choice. Third, fuel availability and customs hours at island airports often dictate routing rather than the great-circle distance.

Aviall's operations desk is built for that complexity: dedicated permits coordination, a global aircraft sourcing network and 24/7 staffing across time zones. Customers see one accountable owner; the complexity is absorbed inside the workflow.

What Asia-Pacific charter looks like in practice

South Pacific island ops

Austere-strip cargo, medevac and disaster response across PNG, Solomons, Vanuatu, Fiji and Polynesia.

Southeast Asia

Charter into Singapore, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Manila and Ho Chi Minh.

North Asia

Long-haul freighter and AOG charter into Hong Kong, Shanghai, Taipei, Tokyo and Seoul.

Long-range medevac

ICU-grade clinical capability on long-range jets across the Pacific and into Asian medical hubs.

Medical transfer & repatriation desk

Request a medical transfer

You do not need a complete clinical picture to contact us. Tell us where the patient is and where they need to go, and a coordinator will start assessing options, aircraft, clinical configuration, crewing, clearances and ground ambulance, while the rest of the information is still being gathered.

Enough to start

• Where the patient is now

City or country, and the facility type if you know it

• Where they need to go

City, country, or receiving hospital if already arranged

• Rough timing

Today, within 24 hours, or later this week

• How they are travelling

Seated, wheelchair, stretcher, or intensive care, an estimate is fine

Helpful, but can follow

• A medical report, discharge summary or fit-to-fly assessment, uploaded securely
• Treating team or transfer-desk contact, so our clinical coordinator can speak with them directly
• Insurer, assistance company or funding arrangement, if one applies
• Receiving hospital acceptance, where that is still being organised

Clinical acceptance and aircraft availability are confirmed after review by the clinical team and the receiving facility. Contacting us does not by itself confirm a flight, a crew or acceptance of the patient.

Or email medical reports and case detail to charters@aviall.com.au

Privacy: patient details and uploaded reports are handled as sensitive information, stored in restricted storage, and passed only to the coordinators and clinicians working the case. They are never written into web addresses, advertising platforms or analytics events.

Mission examples · Illustrative

What this looks like in operation

Representative mission profiles drawn from recurring work. Identifying details, operators, hospitals, routes, aircraft tail numbers, are intentionally omitted.

Heavy lift · Project cargo

Outsize mining component into a remote regional strip

An ASX-listed resources operator faced a stalled processing line waiting on a single oversized component too large for any scheduled freighter. Aviall sourced an outsize main-deck nose-loader, completed pavement and load-spread checks at the regional destination, and coordinated road movement permits at both ends.

Outcome

Component on site inside 72 hours of first call; production line restart same week.

AOG · Time critical

Replacement engine to a wide-body grounded overseas

A major carrier had a wide-body grounded at a foreign hub, awaiting a replacement engine sitting in a domestic MRO. Aviall positioned a freighter to the MRO, coordinated dangerous goods documentation for the engine and stand, and held a flight-following bridge with the airline's tech ops cell door-to-door.

Outcome

Engine wheels-up inside 14 hours of release; aircraft returned to service the next operational day.

International · Repatriation

Long-range stretcher repatriation across the Pacific

A complex case with ventilator and infusion support required movement from a regional Pacific facility back to a domestic tertiary centre. Aviall configured a long-range jet with a critical-care medical fit-out, coordinated bed-to-bed handover with both treating teams, and managed customs and immigration at each stop.

Outcome

Bed-to-bed transfer completed without clinical deterioration en route.

Neonatal · Critical

Neonatal transfer to a tertiary paediatric centre

A neonate requiring escalated care had to be moved from a regional hospital to a metropolitan paediatric tertiary centre. Aviall coordinated an aeromedical aircraft and a specialist retrieval team, with isolette-compatible loading and parent transit on the same airframe.

Outcome

Patient delivered to receiving NICU within the clinical window agreed by both teams.

Disaster · Surge response

Initial response payload into a damaged airfield

Following a sudden-onset event, a response agency needed search, shelter and medical payload into a regional airfield with reduced services. Aviall identified an aircraft cleared for the strip and coordinated ground handling and refuelling support.

Outcome

First payload on the ground inside the agency's 24-hour benchmark; sustained rotations followed.

Diplomatic · Time-critical

Government cargo on a discreet rotation

A government end user required a sensitive cargo movement under a tight window with controlled handling. Aviall ran a single-shipper rotation with security plan filed at both ends and a single point of accountability.

Outcome

Movement completed inside the window with full chain-of-custody documentation.

Why operators, brokers and end clients keep calling back

Credibility built on operational discipline, not marketing

"Single point of clinical accountability from the call to bed-to-bed handover. Our retrieval team had everything they needed before wheels-up."

, Aeromedical retrieval lead · Tertiary hospital network

"The case management discipline matched our internal standards. That is unusual in the assistance market."

, Operations director · International medical assistance company

"Aircraft selection was driven by the patient's clinical picture, not by what was on the apron. That is the right way around."

, Critical-care physician · Repatriation case
