Sydney operating conditions that shape the plan
The curfew and the movement cap are the two facts that decide most Sydney charter plans. A mission that cannot depart before 11pm either moves earlier in the evening, shifts to a curfew-free port, or waits for the 6am opening, so we build the schedule backwards from the slot rather than forwards from the request.
For groups, the practical consequence is that late-finishing fixtures, conferences and shift ends often need either an evening departure locked well in advance or a first-light rotation the following morning. We confirm the slot before the manifest is finalised.
- Sydney Kingsford Smith (SYD/YSSY) operates under a legislated night curfew between 11pm and 6am, with only a narrow set of exemptions
- SYD is a fully slot-coordinated airport with a legislated hourly movement cap, so departure and arrival windows are requested, not assumed
- Bankstown (BWU/YSBK) is the practical reliever for smaller airframes, with its own operating hours and runway limits
- Peak morning and late-afternoon business flows compress available slots on weekdays
