For a shipment originating inland, the road leg to the gateway can influence aircraft choice as much as the flight itself.

    Because Gulf to Australia sectors run long, broadly 10,500-12,000 km to the east coast and shorter to Perth and Darwin, some missions are flown with an intermediate technical stop depending on aircraft type, payload and conditions.
